Val d`Isere is located in the Haute-Savoie region of the Northern Alps, and is part of the Espace Killy ski area. Geneva International Airport is the closest major international airport for the area, from Geneva bus transfers operate throughout the winter months, the trip from Geneva takes approximately 4.5 hours (180km).
 
Another option is to catch one of the numerous trains (TGV, Eurostar, Thalys, ECT...) that will take you to Bourg St Maurice (30 km from Val d'Isère).
